In-Memory Research Laboratory

The Enterprise Application Architecture Laboratory supports all research activities on in-memory and multi-core technology at our group, by providing and managing newest server hardware. The laboratory builds the foundation for activities with in-memory databases, enterprise applications and integration of RFID and tracing technology at our group and the HPI. Thanks to our cooperations, we are able to access new high-end hardware long before it is available on the public market. The excessive usage of virtualization products leverages the flexibility to access enterprise applications and systems of multiple vendors, such as Microsoft and SAP, with different configurations in parallel. A dedicated segment of the laboratory is devoted to RFID-related research, which is equipped with RFID hardware, such as readers and RFID tags. IT infrastructure, hardware as well as software, is self-controlled by the labratory team: Jens Krüger and Christian Schwarz.
