Research Interests

My research interest lies on RFID in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The major idea behind RFID-enabled supply chains is real-time awareness of production status and product flow. This increased supply chain visibility allows for more accurate and dynamic planning and production processes. RFID-enabled supply chains produce massive amounts of data, which need to be stored and exchanged among supply chain participants, to leverage the benefits of real-time awareness.
My research focus lies on system architectures for information systems that support the storage and exchange of RFID data. In particular I am concentrating on EPCglobal Network architecture components, e.g. EPC Information Services, EPC Discovery Service and how in-memory technologies can help to overcome deficiencies regarding data storage and retrieval. I am evaluating different system designs, regarding performance and scalability, to support innovative business processes enabled through the use of RFID.
